LPG for Auto Mobile
LPG is widely used in automobiles as a “green” fuel, as its use reduces Co2 exhaust emissions by around 15% compared to petrol one liter of petrol produces 2.3 kg of Co2 when burnt, whereas the equivalent amount of Auto Gas (1.33-liter due to lower density of autogas) produces only 1.5 x 1.33 =2 kg Co2 when burnt. CO emissions are 30% lower, compared to petrol and Nox by 50%. it has an octane rating (MON/RON) that is between 90 and 110 and an energy content (higher heating value__ HHV) that is between 25.5 megajoules per liter ( for pure propane) and 28.7 mega Jules per liter (for pure butane) depending upon the actual fuel composition.

Stay safe with these steps Precautions
- Ensure adequate ventilation and raise alarm or shout in case of leakage.
- Try and keep the cylinders in a cool place and at a safe distance from sparks, flames and high heat.
- Avoid using LPG in windy situations and immediately suspend all operations in case of unsafe situations.
- Put on a safety cap and place the LPG cylinder in an open area when suspected valve leakage.
- Read the operating instructions mentioned by the manufacturer carefully before use.
Don’ts
- Don’t keep your LPG cylinder in the horizontal position. The right way to use the cylinder is upright.
- Keep the cylinder away from any direct or indirect heat.
- Do not connect the cylinder without checking the valve and rubber ‘0’ ring.
- Don’t keep unused and unconnected LPG cylinders together.
- Don’t let any unauthorized person enter the cylinder area.
- Don’t use battery-operated or electrical devices in and around the LPG shed.
