What is LPG?

LPG stands for Liquefied Petroleum Gas. The composition of LPG is Hydrogen and carbon, also known as Hydrocarbons. Specifically, LPG consists of a combination of Propane (C3H8) or extracted from streams of natural gas from Oil and Gas fields. Propane and Butane are both gases in ambient conditions but can be liquefied under modest pressure and temperature conditions. Furthermore, LPG can safely and easily be stored at room temperature.

Your care guarantees the life of you and your family

When buying LPG Cylinder:

  • Please don’t purchase an un-certified counterfeit cylinder, always buy OGRA certified company cylinder. Always make sure that you are buying from an authorized franchisee.
  • Do not forget to check the company seal and safety cap on the cylinder at the time of delivery.
  • Do not accept the cylinder if the seal is broken.
  • Please look for the due date of testing, which is written outside of the cylinder stay plate.
  • Do not accept the cylinder if the due date is over.
  • Check for gas leaks by applying soap solution on cylinder joints and Safety pipes at the time of putting the new cylinder into use.
  • Do not use an open flame to detect cylinder leaks.

When Cooking with LPG:

  • Keep open doors and windows of your kitchen for proper ventilation.
  • Do not place flammable or plastic items near the flame.
  • Never leave your kitchen unattended while cooking. Wear clothes that do not catch fire easily.

LPG Precautions:

  • Disconnect the LPG regulator and attach a safety cap to the cylinder valve when your gas stove is not in use for long.
  • Always keep the LPG cylinder in an upright position and plain surface, away from other combustible and flammable materials.
  • As good practice, change the gas hose pipe once a year.
  • Always use ISO-approved hose pipes, stoves, regulators and LPG appliances.
  • Make sure all parts of your LPG system are in good condition.
  • Never tamper with your LPG cylinder.

In case of Emergency:

  • Close the regulator and burner knob. Do not panic.
  • Open all doors and windows for ventilation.
  • Extinguish all flames, and lamps and kept away the sources of fire.
  • Put the safety cap on the cylinder and call your gas distributor/franchisee or emergency service for help.
  • Do not operate electrical switches and appliances in the room & Isolate the main electrical supply from outside.
  • LPG is heavier than air and it settles on the ground. Use all available ventilation to disperse the Gas.
